Empire Transport was recognized as one of Arizona’s safest fleets at the Arizona Trucking Association’s annual Leadership Conference in October.
ET was named safest in the “Heavy-haul, combined local/intercity 2-4 million miles” category. The award was announced at the conference’s “Breakfast of Champions,” which also honored the drivers who represented Arizona at last summer’s National Truck Driving Championships. Those drivers included Empire heavy haul driver Johnny Curry, who was recognized for his achievement as the top flat bed driver in Arizona and for ranking 23rd in the nation at the Driving Championship’s truck rodeo.
Empire also received a Certificate of Achievement for being 100% trained in the Highway Watch program. Arizona transport companies have trained 18,000 drivers in the program, in support of Homeland Security.
