Solar power is generated by capturing and converting sunlight via a photovoltaic system (PV). This system ‘s solar panels convert sunlight into direct current. That current is sent to an inverter which converts it to alternating current before sending it to the electric box or breaker box which powers the facility. (This inverter can also feed power directly to a utility company.) A sample PV system is diagrammed below.
